Ridden and trained by the legendary Carl Hester for GB, this stunning stallion is outstanding in his type and demonstrates magnificent paces combined with a fantastic temperament. He has given Carl a new personal best at every competition in 2011 including the European championships (his 7th G.P).

His sire “Metall”, the son of Olympic Ferro achieved the highest grading marks for his birth year and is well known for producing quality & refined offspring. Uthopia has inherited his immaculate conformation, intelligence and best of all, his trainability. His uphill build, powerful hind, supple back and beautiful elevation result in his huge movement that seems to have got everyone talking:-

Relatively new to Grand prix, his last 8 outings have been plus 80% with an average 82.5% at the European Championships where he blasted onto the scene beating Totalis an amazing 3 times, gaining the highest overall score in the team competition and coming home with a gold and two silver medals. It is rare to see this combination of pure power with relaxation and lightness and it is so refreshing to see Carl drop the reins at the final halt and watch Uti stretch down and calmly leave the arena. It is a tribute to both Carl and the horse to watch them enjoy the prize giving's and laps of honour so often avoided by more tense or nervous horses. Uthopia's temperament, like Carl's, is uber chilled!

The crowds literally gasped in Rotterdam as Uthopia clocked up more than 40 tens in his tests (mostly for his extensions, piaffe and flying changes). He is a true gent to handle both at stud and at home and lives a very normal life schooling, hacking, cantering and of course going in the field every day. London 2012 is looking very exciting for the duo who are hungry for Gold!
